Flake ice machine is a kind of ice machine. a. The ice maker is a kind of refrigeration mechanical equipment. After the water passes through the evaporator, it is cooled by the refrigerant of the refrigeration system to make ice. The refrigeration system uses a water carrier to make ice after passing through certain equipment under power. Depending on the principle of the evaporator and the production method, the shape of the ice cubes produced is also different. According to the water source, it can be divided into freshwater flake ice machines, seawater flake ice machines, and general industrial ice makers. Flake ice is thin, dry, loose white ice with a thickness ranging from 1.0 mm to 2.2 mm. The slices are irregular in shape, about 12 to 45 mm in diameter.

You already got a general comprehension of a flake ice machine, while there are more secrets about it, the most mysterious advantage is fast producing ice, you might wonder how does it work to do that, the answer is an advanced core frozen device and its working principle, let’s get to know about it.

Reasons Why Can a Flake Ice Machine Produce Ice Fast

The actual reason for a flake ice machine’s fast-frozen power is actually from its advanced frozen device and unique working principle

Core Device

The chilled water pump in the water storage tank continuously circulates through the plate or subdivided evaporator; after the compressor is running, it undergoes suction-compression-exhaust-condensation (liquefaction)-throttling-and then in the evaporator -10 to -18 degrees Low-temperature evaporation, heat absorption evaporation. Chilled water continuously condenses into an ice layer on the surface of the low-temperature evaporator at a water temperature of 0 degrees. When the ice layer has condensed to a certain thickness when the evaporation temperature of the refrigerant reaches the temperature control set temperature, the defrost solenoid valve is opened, and the deicing is usually carried out in the form of a heat pump, and then the next cycle is realized.

Working Principle

The water enters the storage tank automatically through the inlet valve and is pumped to the shunt pipe by a pump. The shunt pipe distributes water evenly through an evaporator cooled by a cryogenic liquid refrigerant. The water is cooled to the freezing point, and these are cooled to the freezing point. Water freezes and water that is not frozen by the evaporator flows into the storage tank, where it is circulated again through a pump. When the ice reaches the desired thickness, it enters the deicing state, and the high-pressure hot air discharged from the compressor enters the evaporator through the reversing valve to replace the cryogenic liquid refrigerant. This creates a film of water between the ice and the evaporator. This water film keeps the ice away from the evaporator. When the ice is free to fall under the force of gravity into the storage tank below.

Air-cooled condensing appliance

The condensation temperature is determined by the ambient temperature. The higher the ambient temperature is, the higher the condensation temperature is. Generally, the air-cooled condenser is used, and the condensation temperature is 7-12℃ higher than the ambient temperature. This value of 7-12°C is called the heat exchange temperature difference. The higher the condensation temperature, the lower the refrigeration efficiency of the refrigeration unit, so it is important to control the heat exchange temperature difference is not too large. But if the heat exchange temperature difference is too small, the heat exchange area and circulating air volume of the air-cooled condenser must be larger, and the cost of the air-cooled condenser will be higher.

The temperature limit is not higher than 55℃ and not lower than 20℃. In general, it is not recommended to use an air-cooled condenser in areas where the ambient temperature exceeds 42℃. Therefore, whether to choose the air-cooled condenser, first confirm the environmental temperature. Generally, when designing air-cooled ice machines, customers must be required to provide the highest local annual environmental dry bulb temperature.

The higher the ambient temperature is, the lower the heat dissipation efficiency and the worse the cooling efficiency of the air-cooled condenser are. The temperature limit of the air-cooled condenser is not higher than 50℃ and not less than 20℃. In general, it is not recommended to use an air-cooled condenser in areas where the ambient temperature exceeds 38℃. Therefore, whether to choose the air-cooled condenser, first confirm the environmental temperature.

Advantage of a Flake Ice Machine

No water resources are required, and operating costs are low.

Easy to install and use, no other supporting equipment is needed, it can be put into operation as long as the power is turned on

Do not pollute the environment.

It is suitable for areas with severe water shortages or rare water supply.

Advantages of Ice Machine Produced Ice

  1. Directly low temperature and low ice temperature, which can reach below -8°.
  2. The ice is dry and clean, has a beautiful shape, is not easy to form a block, has good fluidity, and is hygienic and convenient.
  3. The flaky structure, so the contact area with the refrigerated products is large, and the cooling effect is wonderful.
  4. Flake ice has no sharp edges and corners, will not damage the surface of refrigerated products, and is very conducive to storage and transportation.
  5. The thickness of ice can reach 1mm-2mm, and it can be used at any time without an ice crusher.
  6. The surface area can reach more than 1500 square meters per ton.
